I'm here!

I've been in London for 3 days now. Unbelievable. I've managed to pack in quite the amount of activities so far...

My arrival couldn't have been anything more than perfect. I got in at 6am Easter morning, dazed, but excited, and found my hotel with no problem at all.
here's where i'll be writing you from...
here's where i'll most certainly stumble into bed every night
(either from exhaustion, or one too many pints)

here's where i'll be making a morning brew to get the day started
and here's where i'l be getting pretty every day.

After I got settled in, it was straight to celebration mode. I spent a lovely sunny Easter Sunday afternoon, with the O'Briens. My wonderful English family, who live only 15 minutes away from my hotel! I'm so glad I'll be able to see them often. We had champagne in the garden, followed by a delicious feast of roast lamb and veggies, followed with rhubarb crumble for dessert. Not bad for a gal who just got off a plane and hadn't slept for a day. Although, that being said, I was too out of it, and forgot to take any pictures. We exchanged gigantic chocolate easter eggs (that's what they do instead of giving easter baskets), and called it a night. Well fed and as happy as could be, I passed out within 5 minutes of getting back to my bed -pictured above in correct description- and had the most glorious sleep I've had all month.

Thanks to the Bank Holiday, I was lucky enough to get a day of freedom before having to head into work. Day two consisted of pure vacation mode. It was a beautiful out again, so my friend Dan (I met him through Amber in Manchester, last time I visited, and he's since moved to town here) took me out for a full english breakfast, and a sit in Green Park, near Picadilly. Look how much fun we had! Dan's great.

He went to work, and I proudly found my own way back home on my own...of course, I had to snap a few shots along the way:

pretty sure they named this place in honor of beavis and butthead

this dog was rad. he rested his head on my shoe the whole tube ride...until i tried to capture the moment, of course.

After a day in the sun, and still feeling like I was living in an alternate universe, I took another hefty nap, before heading out to dinner with my cousin Beth. She's the greatest. We ate at a place in Primrose Hill, where all the celebs supposedly hang out. Very nice. Beth runs a production company called Really Lovely Comedy. She books acts at venues all over town. Being a part of this huge festival happening this weekend called the Camden Crawl, she got me weekend passes for every event! It's like Noise Pop for San Francisco, but with hundreds of musical acts, followed by comedy shows. Yay Beth! Seriously amazing. I can't wait to see what the music scene is like here. It's a great way to get immediately immersed. I'll have new band recommendations for everyone when I get back!

my super duper awesome cousin beth!
http://www.thecamdencrawl.com/  check it out.

With so many things going on (how could forget to mention THE ROYAL WEDDING), it's just the perfect time to be here. I couldn't be more pleased. My next post will be about working in the new office.

Bye for now, xoxo

A wish come true...

Out of the blue, and yet so perfectly timed, my firm decided to send me to their London office for a couple months. I couldn't be happier, or more grateful. I will be helping out with interiors on a children's hospital project. I can't wait to dive in, and see what it's like to live and work in such a glorious place.

Sharing the great news with everyone was like riding on a roller coaster. Saying goodbye to friends, family, and co-workers was bittersweet. They were happy for me, yet jealous, and thought I may never want to come back! I can't predict what will happen over the upcoming months, but the idea of that excites me.

After a week of frantic preparation, sorting out a work visa, and tying up loose ends at home, they sent me off to explore a whole new world...across the pond.

I love you all,

Cat
